over-reduction of vinegar boils? salvageable?

so yesterday i started an extraction on 1kg of ACRB... used thicklight's tek, it's always worked before...

while reducing my vinegar boils, i sort of napped off & reduced them more than i wanted to... when i woke, i had a very thick liquid left in my pot... i let it sit overnight, & now i have a thick sludge... not very liquidy at all... my first instinct is to boil the sludge in some fresh vinegar/h20... is this a viable path to saving this, or am i just S.O.L. on this one?..

I bet you`re fine though.. Just add a bit of water and mix it, no need to boil more.

thanks... that's what i'm hoping... it was a real heart-sinking feeling to look in my pot this morning only to find a mud that wouldn't even pour... made that eternity spent boiling yesterday feel like 2 of 'em... gonna keep my fingers crossed, i'll post results when i have some...

Yeah as long as it didn't burn it should be fine. Freebase it and if you want to go oral route use like orange juice or a more friendly acid.

pretty sure it didn't burn, when i woke up there was still 2+ liters of liquid, albeit a vigorously boiling liquid...

i added the 2000ml of additional water/vinegar & put it on the stove to steep for 15 minutes or so... chilled in the fridge & filtered 2x... recovered 2100 ml, split it into 3 jars & salted... gonna add base shortly & pull at least one jar later tonight... i've got a decent feeling all will be okay...

So you say aslong as you're next to the pot it's ok to have a nap !!

Correct! Make sure you sleep with your head on the lid so if it boils over you'll know!
Or dangle your nackers in it so you know when its too hot just like running a bath!
