overnight oxidation?

so a weird problem occurred this week.. last extraction from a lb of good mhrb, which i've used successfully three times before.. 100 or so grams in a STB tek.. after two days had beautiful white xtals.. redissolved in warm naptha yesterday afternoon and by evening it looked like a brilliant snowglobe.. however this afternoon the solution had gone yellow and volume decreased considerably.. what caused such a rapid change in just 18 hours? was the naptha too hot or what? i must solve the problem to prevent mishaps in the future.. nothing i have ever seen before and i am worried i must admit..

Where was the solution kept when it srunk?
Did you have it covered?
If you have it uncovered, the. It will evaporate, whether it is in the freezer or out.
Plus spice takes up room in the solution, when it freeze precipts, you might get a naphtha loss (or the space taken by dmt) after it has fully cashed out.

it was on the counter in a jar to evap some naptha.. added fresh room temp naptha and sealed jar, then set in near boiling water to heat and dissolve spice.. refridgerator to cool for 4 hours then freezer for another 4 to finish precipitating spice.. left overnight in sealed jar in freezer and following afternoon checked on xtals and had gone yellow.. volume of xtals was way less than previous evening and very yellow crystals were all that were left in jar..

I feel your pain, bud. I recently re-x'd 2grams of spice, half fresh and white, half yellowish impure. It was dissolved in 100ml of clean, heated naphtha; decanted from the crap; then slowly cooled to room temp, fridge, freezer, deeper freeze for 2 days.

After pulling it out and decanting the solvent, the xtals all looked of lesser purity, with some very dark orange impure spots. I was pretty disappointed, over 500mg were lost. It was baffling where it could have gone, the amount of solvent I used was so little and could barely dissolve the spice at room temp, so it should have all crashed out at -20.
