PC for cappi extraction

Instead of boiling the cappi vine for hours, couldn't a pressure cooker be used?

I've done this many times making San Pedro syrup and it gets all the goodies out. :d

I wouldn't think hard boiling would ruin the harmalas because the traditiional method boils the cappi for 24 hours or more.

Any thoughts?
 
You're fine to PC...I'll be doing the same thing with a bulk rue extraction shortly. Harmala alkaloids are very durable and should not degrade when doing so. I would think 3 x 30min boils would be adequate, but you can judge for yourself based on the water color/consistency.
 
I'll be following gibran2's cappi extraction tek. I'll be using "McKenna Red Cappi Vine".

Instead of boiling 3-4 times for 45 mins.
I'll PC @ 15psi for 15 mins (3 times).

With pedro's I usually taste the plant matter for bitterness after the final PC.

I'll post results next week.

I'm hoping to accomplish two things:

A. Save time from boiling procedure.
B. Pull all the goodies out of the plant matter.
