Penis cactus brew , advice need !!

Hi guys I was givin a penis cacti about 3 months ago it's got three growths ( pups ) all the same length 8cm approx it's fairly scar'd up and after 3 months of trying to grow it's just not taking root and it's getting squishy so it's going to be my first cacti experiance so I thought I'd flollow houses TEK as here !

And am unsure on dosing I no house recomends 1g as a starting dose but that's for San Pedro would this dose be the same with the penis cacti ?? And or is there a better way of extracting or brewing it !! The cacti is below

If your cactus is only 8cm long I would try to grow it instead of eat it. You said that it hasn't taken root but that is no reason to give up. Sometimes it takes a while for a plant to root and start growing. What kind of growing conditions did it have? This makes a huge difference in your success.

You will likely not get any effect from 8cm unless you have a particularly potent cactus. It would make more sense to grow it and then have an unlimited source.

Yes you're making sence as it's not as if it's turning brown I mean it is quite scared up and a bit squishy but it's not changing colour , I grow it indoors with plenty of light I water it about every 3-4 weeks when the ( suculant potting mix ) dries out completely
but other then that it seems ok

If I were you, I'd keep it going for a little while.

Let it get bigger and thicker

I agree with the others let it root and grow. Patience is important when working with cactus either ingesting it (2+ hour come up time) or growing it.

For the record the penis cactus is exceptionally potent, but I'm not sure so potent that 3 inches would be much of a dose.

For when you do brew... I personally would stop with the tea and not evap all the way down to a resin, I've found the resin is exceptionally hard on the gut and tends to create extremely nausea and cramping, for me at least the tea is tends to be a little easier on the digestives.

Although you said it's getting squishy and it hasn't rooted? You shouldn't water cuttings that haven't rooted. This will cause them to rot. I am guessing the bigger cactus has roots and is ok to water? But if the small guys don't have roots they should not be getting wet. I hope they stay healthy! I have experienced rot with my cacti so I know how much it is a bummer.

Stop watering that thing!!!! If it doesn't have roots, you need to make that happen. Put it into a dry pot and leave it alone for at least a month. Then dig it up and see if there are any roots. Usually you will notice fresh growth on the tip just before it starts throwing roots.

Bridgesii's are especially prone to rot and must be treated with a bit more care than a Pachanoi or a Puruvianus. I've even lost fully rooted cutting simply from watering them too early. It's a real disappointment. Once that thing has roots you can water it weekly as long as the soil has a chance to dry out. I prefer terra cotta pots, because they allow the soil to dry out much faster than plastic containers.
