Kiaora,
I would love some advice ......... would be sweet to put mimosa + rue together in the herbal percolator or would it be better to do them separate?
or maybe better to use mimosa + caapi?
THANKS!

cool, thanks for your reply! so could I combine mimosa + caapi together in the percolator or would I be better to do them separate?
I wouldn't combine them together. Mimosa contains tannins, which binds and inactivates harmalas. Do it separately and if you want to make the mimosa more palatable to drink, use the gelatin tek to remove the tannins.

You say rue clogs filters but how about if you used 2 piece of cloth and put the rue between them? or if your only using 3g of rue (normal aya amount?) then how can it clog the filter? Really would like to use the percolator for rue as that means i can make a mimosa + rue aya with no heat AND minimal water.

Cool. I'll try that tomorrow or the day after. So just to make sure im getting this right.

1. I'll run 600 mls through over 3gs(maybe 4) of rue.

2. Then 2 litres of water over 10 - 12 grams of mimosa.

3. Then i'll boil each down sepeartely.

4. Consume rue drink.

5. T+0.05/0.10 Drink mimosa drink.

Just want to make sure the liquid amounts are right :D

I am wanting to use THP for my next A/B spice extraction. I believe the bark/water ratio is 1g/150ml right? Well my question is, given that my percolator is hdpe, would there be a problem with using HCl as my acid? I want to try for some ultra pure by defatting with DCM and know to do that vinegar isn't an option.

I've pretty successfully used a coffee machine for kratom and passionflower before, but i had to run it through 6 times. Would that work with mimosa? Probably decrease the potency i guess...

Yield seems much better. Im pretty sure it was tested and in comparison it was much more potent, but I dont remember numbers or link (maybe dagger can say).

Think about it. When you soak, as the alkaloids fill up the liquid, it also slows down how much the alkaloids still in the plant will 'want' to get out (like in osmosis, how the osmotic gradient, the difference between concentration of a specific particle in the liquids, will influence the speed of its diffusion). While in the THP, what happens is there is a constant flux of fresh water with no alkaloids, running through, so the alkaloids are always tending to diffuse fast.

Does the explanation make sense?

That makes total sense actually. I know that someone said the caapi yield was lager with THP'n but I haven't found much, actually I've found nothing, talking about extracting MHRB with this method. I have 50g worth of tea in the fridge that is almost settled out and see through. I started a thread 'A/B via THP' where I've posted more about what I'm going for(puity) and will post my results tomorrow or monday when I'm done.
