Phalaris Brachystachy - possible success

so...i had grown some phalaris brachystachy last summer..and it was a small patch and i didnt really harvest it very often..but i did happen to harvest 3g at one point...and somehow saved it in my fridge...it had frozen and thawed a few times over the course of the next six month..

so 3g of grass..is not much to work with..i wasnt really expecting much..BUT with the reports out on the net..its possible that brachystachy can have 3% alkaloids..and HOPEFULLY mostly dmt..so at 3% that would land me around 90mg POSSIBLE..

so i put the grass in an unknown amount of water...maybe 20ml..and then added an unknown amount of lye..very small amount..

i mixed this for a bit..then added the dlimonene...it got cloudy at first..i imagine those were the fats transfering over..and HOPEFULLY some dmt...i let it sit with the grass for about 3 days..

then i sucked off the dlimo with a baster...then made up some FASI and added a few dropper fulls to the mix...it didnt cloud up like i was use to but i figured i would let it sit for a few days and see if ANYTHING feel out..

so i looked...and oh my god..there ARE crystals...SWEET...so i let it sit for another day..and then poured off the dlimo..and washed the crystals with a small amount of cold IPA very quickly..to clean off any dlimo..ive saved this ipa and evaporated it before..and it picks up such a small amount i didnt figure id keep it..

so the crystals dried..and i weighed them

92mg ALKALOID fumarates!

and at 76% that would be 70mg of FREEBASE...thats close to 2.3%!!! i have yet to test them yet..but im also sorta hesitant..i think i will freebase them and try smoking..we will see

Jorkest, your such a great contributor here to the nexus. Please hurry back with details on the activity :D. Hopefully it's not all 5meo or that smoked dose will shoot you to the moon! Start small, I'm sure you know this. Just figured I'd throw it out there.
 
Ahh Jorkest man you beat me to it! I have some Phalaris brachystachy and aquatica seeds I'll plant when the weather warms up a bit here, and will experiment with these grasses as well...bravo! 8)

haha nice jork...i did my first pull on the grass last night with that poormans tek..the solvent is real golden yellow..not sure what it pulled but we'll see..
 
Yes this is all verry interesting , id love to hear the effects and results from your journey into the somewhat unknown.

Well ive ordered some seeds and have planted the phalaris arundinacea and i wondering if any1 knows how long they take to grow and what part of the plant is used for the extraction.
I read the leaves contain the dmt but maybe possibly using the whole plant?
This is curious cause 3 grams of plant matter seems like less then one plant , i mean your talking about fresh right ?
 
More, and urgent research with these grasses is required I think.

Personally, I'm not sure about Phalaris arundinacea...I think most people who turn to working with Phalaris start with this species and are disappointed with it and don't bother pursuing Phalaris as a group any further. It seems this species varies widely in its alkaloid content, sometimes active, other times not, and it can contain varying levels of gramine and hordenine which may be toxic.

I think the focus should be on Phalaris brachystachys and certain strains of Phalaris aquatica (Big Medicine, AQ1, Australis). The latter also vary more widely in the alkaloid content, but for every dose of DMT in them, there tends to be a dose of 5-Meo-DMT as well (also traces of bufotenine). Other alkaloids may also be present, including gramine and hordenine.

Phalaris brachystachys seems to have the cleanest alkaloid profile of all the Phalaris species, and the highest recorded DMT content, thus I think it is worthy of further research by interested Nexians (some strains also have traces of 5-Meo-DMT). And after recent events with BBB being closed down, it might be a very good time to investigate becoming self sufficient in growing one's own DMT supply.... 😉

Of course only Jorkest can bodly go where very few men have gone before, and confirm or disconfirm the potency rumours... :d

Big Medicine is phalaris arundinacea, not aquatica..

I have extracted arundinacea many times and it is active..one batch of grass i harvested in the winter yielded a goo that gave me a 5meoish sort of breakthrough with mild visuals..other stuff was more like NN..I think the meo and nn ammounts varry alot..the problems i had were with all the fats and oils to deal with when doing a/b teks..
 
here we go..i just smoked this..and it seemed to not do anything..then i fell into this trance/dream like state...i felt like i wasnt 'here' sorta like a dream...like i didnt realize i was somewhere else..i was witnessing and a part of 'something' dont really remember what it was..and then i got pulled out of it..and realized i was here..i still have the tryptamine like vision...and i have a nice euphoria..i didnt feel any negative effects...like nausea or tension..the smoke was easy to hold..


anyway...the slight sedation/dream state..reminds me of bufotenine..and the length is more similar to bufotenine..but i also used sodium hydroxide..and high test bases like this destroy bufutenine...but this was more powerful than i expected...but also not super powerful..if i had more to work with i could figure it out better...i guess i need to plant some seeds..

anyway..it was a VERY nice experience...was light..but also very encompassing...the amount was low..but there can be a lot of loss in the process and im actually happy i got anything..and especially enough to get some nice long lasting effects...not sure what this stuff is..but i like it

yes i did freebase it with sodium carbonate...so..i imagine i got about 10-15mg im not sure...but the jar i put the limo and fasi in has some more crystals formed in it..they look different than the other ones...i wonder if the first crystals were contaminated with n-oxides or something...anyway..im gonna dry these new crystals out and see what they weigh and whatnot
