When I grew phalaris on my windowsill, I had to accumulate multiple harvests to get a decent amount for extraction. To minimize oxidation and enzymatic degredation, I immediately boiled each harvest in a bit of water and vinegar and then froze it. I was also stressing the plant before each harvest by leaving it in the dark for a couple of days. Unfortunately I never carried out the extraction and had to discard the material when I moved to another country.
Soon I'll be in a more stable residence and I plan to try again with phalaris.
