Hey Into the Void,
I'm the author of that recent tek. It's super easy, especially if you are just looking to get the harmalas out of the syrian rue.
This is the up to date one :
Wiki - Super-Easy No-Filter Harmalas Tek
As far as I know syrian rue and the harmalas extracted from them do not require any MAOI diet to make sure you don't get serotonin syndrome. I think I recall in a long ago post a guy talking about eating aged cheese while on rue/pharma with no issues.
In the past I took pharma about 4 or 5 times. 4 were nothing-burgers and the 5th was surprise ego death. Definitely tread lightly
I found this threat:
How to make pharmahuasca hit reliably which I'm going to follow in my experiements.
I would highly recommend extracting at least 200g of rue seeds to you have not worries about ~wasting a trip~ on a dwindling supply or harmalas
I have never been a going-deep psychonautic (3g of shrooms and 1 strong hit of acid is plenty for me) so I'm going to dip my toes into pharmahuasca in a very methodical way over the course of several weeks.
While I am actually going to use pure harmine and THH, I'll convert my planned dosage to plain rue-extract for simplicity
1. 35mg harmalas - DONE - mild effects, easy to ignore or forget I took it
2. 75mg harmalas - DONE - still quite mild, a few waves of nondescript headspace change/energy but often forgot I took it for long periods
3. 150mg harmalas
4. 150mg harmalas - 20mg DMT
5. 150mg harmalas - 40mg DMT
6. 150mg harmalas - ?? DMT (decide based on 40mg test)
The 35mg one was more of an allergy/toxicity test than anything and is highly recommended (maybe even a lower dose)
Passed that, feel free to skip any of the steps, but what I would NOT recommend is taking somewhere around 125-150mg DMT with 150mg harmalas for your first successful pharma, that was too much and not pleasant. Sat down on a swingset in a park and then closed my eyes and had a full DMT breakthrough, then realized it was getting stronger. The visuals were so intensely morphing that for about 15 seconds walking home I felt like I was not making any headway. Scared me off pharma for over a decade, but I'm happy to be getting back into it in the coming months.
Hope your pharma experience is a good one!
