Okay so this is one of my first few times ever doing this . But one of my friends showed me how and he's very experienced and knows what he's doing. Anyway I have the menosa bark. I got that all grinded up with the blender. And I put it on the oven on shimmer for a few hours I did notice it did boil at one point I hope that's okay? I also added vinegar to that while in the water. Now here's the fun part so while I was gone one of my friends was too eager to get it going and for the sodium hydrate he just used straight Drano it looked like crap and everything. So we went back to the store and got so hydroxide whatever it is the LIE. And it turns straight black. Then add my Napa. I mixed up I don't shake but it's slowly turn the bottle for probably at least 3 hours all together. And with the turkey base and I suck the top layer of the Napa. And put it in the freezer. But when I got back was definitely not any crystals it's pretty much chunks of ice with a goo. So now I have with the same bark. Redid the whole thing but this time I only use that lie definitely no drano. No I'm at the point where I sucked the Napa off and put it on my glass dish. But I'm really curious if I did the right thing here or whatnot please any advice or help would be greatly appreciative thank you

oh oh the joy of inspector gaget .
first keep all the extra cooks away ...pick a smple tek and follow it to a "T" NO mixing steps from multiple steps of multiple teks you have no understanding of . maybe read some basic chem saftey guide lines first . also ..
really i'm trying to be nice ....you or one of your friends will get hurt ,
please maybe one of the actual chemists will chime in on this nonsence...really drano

I never put the menosa on shimmer, I only combine the lie into the water and then add the menosa without the cook. Black is normal. Generally if I have peach paper then I use that to make sure it is purple (the peach paper says purple is the right peach). The freezer can give ice if dish uncover. For the redo I think you did the right thing. You can know if you did right if crystals.
Is your Napa cab-sauv or shiraz? What year?
