Precipitating before pulling?

I’ve been slowly mixing my soup for a week now. I will pick it up and gently mix the naphtha around and then leave it until I pick it up again. I use heat, but when I leave it overnight, or several hours before vpicking it back up to mix, I find 3 layers. The soup, the naphtha, and a very small, like paper thin small, layer in between. Is this precipitate? I would have assumed if it had precipitated in the jar still, the crystals would have mixed back in with soup. Any insight?

Crappy pic, I couldn’t get a good angle without a glare. But you can kinda see the “floaty” stuff on top of the soup. If I agitate it, it mixes back in. Into the naphtha or into the soup, I don’t know.

I can't tell up from down in the pic attached.

Why would you have assumed the crystals would have mixed back in with the soup? Freebase DMT is not particularly water soluble.

I also get a layer between the soup and the solvent sometimes. Not sure what it is, so I hope others can chime in.

I just assumed it came from the soup, it would return to the soup. I just didn’t think crystals would float. Either way when I actually pull the solvent from the jar I’m gonna do it hot in case that was precip that fell when it cooled off.
