Predosing Citric acid to boost mescaline experience and others like mushrooms

So in this paper that does have conflict of interest due to being tied to a patent but has references to some of the claims. So it shares a number of agonists to TRPV1 which when taken act synergistic to 5-HT2A receptor. It limits to the effects of reducing inflammation and enhancing mental and physical health but doesn't make since it wouldn't also enhance the psychedelic effects.

With mescaline this would play a larger factor in theory since mescaline main receptor is 5-HT2A where dmt and lsd and i believe mushrooms the main receptors are 1a and 3a. With cielo we already have acidic salt HOWEVER all the salt forms are acidic so doesn't make sense only a partial effect? The amount of 1.2-1.5g citric acid would be the amount to fully activate the receptor based on a paper testing on rats also that value would make sense based on the amount of lemon juice used in lemon tek comes to compatible amount.

You would predose, take with or take after your dosing of the compound you want to enhance. The paper mentioned a few TRPV1 agonists like citric acid which is around 1.2-1.5g to activate, black pepper around 70mg of piperine, cuminan, capsaicin, and a few others... One thing that adds to this idea is the fact that some peyote ceremonies are done in sweat lounges which temperatures over 42-43C also activate the receptor
A very hot shower, or sauna may replicate effects.

The contradicting information I've found is in relation to capsaicin. In trouts notes on ayahuasca additives there is a mention of the capsaicin chinese and the wives of shaman use it to remove from red caapi intoxication while the following citation doesn't have any notations indicating its use as an additive. MAYBE the maoi is dulled with the capsaicin or something IDK. This was on my list of things to try in the future.

The paper has a link to the patent which is VERY long but near the bottom they do provide some values and recipes as well.
This is a safer alternative to taking these plants with MAOI and also will provide the additional benefit these are cheap and readily available alternatives and much easier than maoi sources. You can mix a few different sources that may have added benefits like ginger to aid in nausea PLUS is an agonist so works the same test this by predosing or dosing during the experience 1g of citirc acid or other agonists mentioned in the paper

This is also the likely reasoning for lemon tek since just acidic conditions without heating won't convert the psilocybin. But the citric acid would activate the TRPV1 agonism enhancing the 5-HT2A activity.

Interesting find - it does appear to shift the goalposts somewhat, especially in terms of understanding the lemon tek.
Do you mean curcumin?

The synergistic effect of a 5-HT2A agonist with a TRP agonist
demonstrates improved efficacy over a 5-HT2A agonist alone at
equivalent doses. Examples of 5-HT2A agonists include 4-AcO-
DMT (psilacetin), serotonin, psilocybin, lysergic acid amide,
myristicin, and elemicin. TRP agonists include capsaicin,
carvacrol, cinnamaldehyde, curcumin, eugenol, piperine, and
myristicin. Many of these compounds can be sourced from
generally regarded as safe materials, such as psilocybin-
containing fungi, morning glory seeds, Hawaiian baby woodrose
seeds, nutmeg, cayenne peppers, turmeric, oregano, cloves, and
cinnamon.
That's rather an interesting list. It rather circles back round to the "Space Paste" formula, which I can confirm in serving to enhance the effects of both psilocin and mescaline.

Lol pretty much adding all of the natural 'agonists'. Near the bottom of the patent it does share some recipes...
This is an interesting mix of legal herbs that is said to produce a very serious psychedelic trip. It's called "Space Jam" and "Space Paste". This recipe is all over the place with different names and even appears on Erowid.

4 parts nutmeg (ground from whole nutmeg)
4 parts almonds (soak overnight and rinse)
4 parts raw pistachios
2 parts cinnamon
1 part cumin
1 part tarragon
1 part oregano
1 part basil
1 part turmeric
1/2 part cayenne pepper
1/2 part black pepper
maple syrup (to taste)

Grind all the dry ingredients into a very fine powder. Add syrup and mix. About 2 tablespoons makes a "decent dose".

All ingredients need to be present. It’s said that if any one of the herbs are omitted, it doesn’t work well.

Very interesting hypothesis 👏 and would be worthwhile to test, I think especially the combination of citric acid and mescaline since the strong 5-HT2A affinity of mescaline.

Maybe in some time I have a free weekend to see if the threshold for getting the effects of mescaline will get lowered. Currently I’m confident that I can feel the first effects at around 50 mg of the citrate salt, so maybe I should try that dose and 1,5 grams of citric acid. Would be great if would work to kick things up a bit.

Thanks for sharing,

>>>Full set of space paste links, as found in the nutmeg index post:

The paper, centred around the patent, doesn't really say anything about citric acid, nor do any of the references

This one does, and has a ton more references:

So, who wants to find out if resiniferatoxin will enhance psychedelics?
Lastly, some other natural compounds, that are well-known ligands for TRPV-1, may inhibit SARS-CoV-2 as well as lessen some symptoms of COVID-19. Recognized examples are represented by quercetin (130), resveratrol (131), spermidine/spermine (132), naringenin (133), and baicalin.

This leads into one heck of a rabbithole:
