Prepowdered MHRB Water Ratio (Noman)

Here is SWIM's general setup:

2000ml Mixing jar (pickles were delicious)
500ml Collecting jar (many)
**Using pre-powdered MHRB**
using Noman's Tek


Mixing Jar
50g pre-powdered MHRB
50g Red Devil Lye
1500ml water ** double water for pre-powdered(?)
50ml Naphtha

He is unsure about how much water to use, Noman's tek calls for about 2x water for pre-powdered bark. He is told to add water until it appears "free flowing" and not sludge-like.

1: Ignoring the steps to add ingredients, does SWIM's measurements appear accurate?
2: Does it matter if SWIM adds a bit too much water?
 
My usual extraction is using these ratios with powdered bark:

100g's bark
110g's lye (always find myself adding more anyway)
1.8L water
50ml naphtha per pull.

I think doubling the water is a little overkill to be honest. There's nothing worse than dealing with more liquid than necassary. It's a pain.

I just leave stuff to soak for 3-5 days and shake it up quite regularly before I add the naphtha for pulling.

There's pretty much always going to be bark powder sitting on the bottom anyway.
 
I've laways gone with the folowing ratio of 1x1x15x1 in the order of MHRB (prepowdered), lie, water, solvent and it's worked beautifully every time. Only once have I needed to consider washing but even then Ie decided not to bother as it wassn't that bad. I only let it sit for an hour or so before pulling also. I've never been dissapointed unless I forgot something like the third roll around which happened once.
 
The gerbil always uses 100g MHRB - 1500ml H2O - 100g Lye - 100ml naptha per pull. Its mixed at night, naptha added in the morning. Jar is swirled through out the day and then left to sit during dinner. Naptha is turkey baster'ed off and put in the freezer. Usually 2 or 3 more naptha pulls are done over the course of the next day. The gerbil went after the jungle with toluene once, but now that he found limonene...
 
were the pickles dill? I...LOVE...DILLS. .:p

i know this is several days since a post in this thread, but how did the extract go jacetea? those measured amounts seem spot on to me.
 
SWIM is tempted to start using another mixing jar...Mainly because he wants an excuse to eat more pickles :)
Pickles were indeed dill...With garlic as an added bonus.

SWIM's extractions are going good thanks for asking. SWIM is now getting extractions that are on par with 0.5% yield from Noman's tek. He added a bit more lye to the mix among other things. He made a small thread in the STB section about his first extraction vs. second extraction.
