preserving ayahuasca

Iv'e been planning on brewing up a pound of magical white caapi and seperating the liquid into many 125ml canning jars (ceremony cups:) ). Is it possible to pressure cook the aya so it can be stored on a shelf for say about a year or so?

Freezer.

Ayahuasca out of fridge/freezer can mold after some days/weeks. Maybe if you close it very well and jar is very clean, it can stay fine, though it will for sure ferment. Fermenting raises pH and creates alcohol, so you should boil it down to evap the alcohol before drinking if so.. But anyways you dont want to risk mold (happened to me), so ideally store it in the freezer or at least fridge.

My freezer is so small and It's jam packed with food and also it wouldn't suprise me if my wifes grand parents would feed it to my kids when baby sitting lol, I wish I could say thats a joke... Just to be clear endless, did you pressure cook your drink or was it just canned and stored? My wild bird seed jars last a long time after being PC'd

It was not pressure cooked. You can try it out and let us know but I would hate to hear you had a whole lot of ayahuasca get moldy. Cant you just close it down with a note "dont open" or similar and think of any of a number of excuses for what it could be?

Or a friends house? Or... hmm dont know... Good luck either way!

''Warning MINIATURE DEATH INSIDE''. I would say its worth a try since pressure cooking kills all bacteria in the jar. It would have to be an experiment with only 1 or 2 drinks just in case... Thanks for your input endless

Irie,
Also a word of caution regarding the metal of your pressure cooker....
No Aluminum!!!

You could always evap it to a resin and store it with a few silica desiccants (things in jerky bags) if you don't mind the extra work. Then just dissolve what you need in water when its time to drink.

Afaik, rehydrated aya should be no different than frozen, or PC'd sterile aya stored in liquid form.

U tube has advice on sterilizing jars, filling them with freshly prepared jam, then resterilizing the lot again by boiling water. This should work fine for Ayahuasca.

Perhaps simpler is to use clean jars that have been rinsed several times with freshly boiled water, this should kill most bugs, then fill to the rim, save air damage. This should keep in the fridge for several months i would think.
