Prikle poppy?

found this in Hawaii.kinda of random and hidden spot... its prikly and almost looks like a poppy but its not a Hawaiian prickle poppy.... any clue what it is?

looks like a typical scottish thistle.. or Onopordum acanthium

Thistle. They are looked at as weeds where im at. I always thought they were rather pretty

Right on guys, thanks... thistle it is. A weed huh?.yeah I though it was a cool plant... Stumbled across it as I was walking through haleakala crater... seemed out of place.
