Proper Movies thread

Hello friend,

it is time we have a movie thread worth this place. I suggested movies in old one, but I am not satisfied with even my own suggestion/s.

Guess, there should be some "rules" for this thread.
1. Only one movie per post
2. Post only movies you did watch on psychedelics
3. You have watched movie more than once (one time on psychedelics and other time/times without)
4. Movie impacted you in some way - you have been thinking about it for long time

Write about each of the points, write about why do you like that movie, about what moved you. Try to avoid spoilers, and think about how you might impact others who will come to your recommendation.

I take great care with choosing a movies I watch with friend of mine, on shrooms. When something is "tested" already, it would be shame to let it fall into " I watched this, and its great".

Even if no others will post I will, there are some things that should have a post like that and I am sure others will come with time.

It was year 2022 and I have been going thru local movie theater listings. I have seen this, read the description and made nothing of it. Movie about some actors is not for me, is it?

Summer 2023, I take few grams of shrooms, and decide to check out the movie I downloaded.

Fuck. For 30 minutes I have been holding my breath, then it slowed, I took deep one. Than again. The ride, the music, the scenery, the everything. Just incredible.

Then two weeks later I have took it to my friend, and we started to watch it ( 5grams each ). Mind you I only wanted him show the beginning - he wanted to watch something else. We of course watched the entire thing because he could not stop. I still say its the best movie I have ever seen. I have seen it multiple time since then. The main theme is my ringtone. Me wanting to play a main theme song, lead me to picking up piano again.

The best actors, the best journey, the best music. Master class on great movie. I have been thinking about it, and listening to music from it since. (listening quite a lot)

Its long, but those 3 hours are great. I cant wait to watch it with someone dear to me again. Someone who haven't seen it yet, guess its someone I haven't met yet...

All the rules are met, except I'm struggling with rule #2. The only thing I have seen under rule #2 are the surroundings of a campfire. Oh well.

I have goosebumps even writing this. Based on the Homer Odysea, by Cohen brothers, I present to you the long and hard road which you find definitely worth it.

As ever we did 5g with 3g rue, and watched some...

Music is phenomenal, thanks to this I found many new songs I like to listen to. Even explored new genres. After the movie, we let the soundtrack play and just layed there, listening to it... in pure amazement. After that Spotify algorithm went on and thanks to that I found few songs I now consider my favorites (Goodnight Texas - Railroad, Gillian Welch - Look at Miss Ohio, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - Sister Rosetta Goes Before Us... to list a few).

I watched it second time with my mom, after few days. She was blown as well.

Acting, is great. Story is long and full of peril even if you are not a man of constant sorrow. Who wouldn't want to watch George Clooney sing... As with other movies which I will put here, I regret only that I cant watch it for the first time again.

Ingest some, and then hold on for a ride.

I saw it before. Long time ago. Then it came up on Lex Fridman podcast with Eric Weinstein - multiple times (about how deeply philosophical it is). I knew there is something there, but decided to wait till one of our togethers to watch it again.

We took 5g of shrooms each.

We set up on this journey.

During entire movie friend of mine is asking "You are really telling me that this is for children?" - multiple times, with adding murmuring "this cant be for children" (he then of course as is his custom watched it second time without shrooms and confided in me that it also is for children )

The depth of the characters, they stance towards the world and the philosophical complexity of this. I guess I will watch it soon again. I seriously think that there is no point in life of one human being, when he cant take something useful from this story.

Before writing any of these, I think about what I will write at least for a bit. I think this is one of the great works, but for separately other reason. Its and animated thing which is suitable for kids (I guess as would be Avatar the Last Airbender ). While being entertaining for almost anybody it has strong and beautiful message and I cant imagine anything more honorable then making something that kids watches 100 times and takes away something which is good down to the roots. Without even knowing.

Movie I saw as a 17year old and have been one of my favorites since. I watched it few times. And when I started doing mushrooms, I knew watching this with a friend of mine will be a treat. Boy, was I right...

Actors, just actors, are great, they are incredible people at the beginning of their carriers. They do terrific job.

Music, music is awesome, I liked it in 2010 and I still like it.

And the story? After 5grams you are confused person watching confused person trying to make sense of the world and his life, trying to learn a lessons... do right.

To quote a friend who seen it with me, after ingesting 5grams of Psilocybe cubensis (each): "I have never seen anything like this, one of the greatest things I have seen in my life".

In after watching it again, he might have change him mind (he doesn't like romantic comedies...), but in the moment its perfect. I will for ever say its one of the greats. Its not the deepest, but its incredible fun...

I only saw trailer and had feeling that we will like it. (It was maybe month after it came out)

Me and my friend took 5g of mushrooms each.

Now, it is the series, but each part has only 20minutes. We could not finish it that day. Because after each part I was sitting on the ground for 10-20 minutes, contemplating what I just saw. Then we smoke a cigarette and went for another part. Following with me again on the ground in amazement, and another cigarette with conversation.

Entirely alien ecosystems are waiting for you. Things and situations on the edge of the imagination. Beautiful sound design. Evoking thinking about understanding and cooperating with environment, telling you to stop look around and think. Telling you to stop fighting and instead learn. It was just amazing, breathtaking otherworldly experience.

If you like sci-fi, you should definitely watch this!

I seek good movies, good stories. When they find me I try to enjoy them with people I love.

I saw the trailer. And then waited. When it came out I took it to my friends and after 5g of mushrooms we went for it.

It blew my expectations in so many ways I was dumb struck. Its work of beauty. Thanks to this Clair de Lune is one of the songs I fell in love with (while you will like the song regardless...), or mole like I have finally found it...

Actors are beautiful and great. Scenes are work of beauty. Messages that go thru screen right deep into you... Love, bravery, hardship... Just like life.

My mother loved it as well. I of course had to show her next week. She didn't expected to watch it with me in one sitting - unplanned.

If you want to think about society after 5 grams of mushrooms. This is your movie.

I listened to soundtrack of this movie so many times... its hard to imagine. There are some musical pieces which will be always my favorite, just beautiful music (Sonnerie de Ste. Geneviève du Mont-de-Paris).

Story takes you on the journey of absurdity of our society. All the emotions, problems, our disconnection as a society. Its beautiful exploration of places where almost no one dares to go. And that is worth it!

Its rough ride, but it is one that I am glad I took and will always cherish.

I found about this and suggested we should watch this after ingesting 5 grams of shrooms. Buddy told me that we definitely should. We did.

Its Bollywood. There are some weaker parts. But it holds. It holds in a way that is hard to imagine. And it is placed in a special place, at least top 5 if not top 3 movies we did on shrooms. You will like the music and some really strong moments.

Its something different.

The bridge scene will get you, I promise.
