Properly informing sitters

I have been thinking about finally doing my first extraction, and the one thing that I can't find is anyone else in person who has tried DMT, a few who would maybe try it, but no one who's experienced. The people i know who are also thinking of experiencing hyperspace are willing to be my sitter, some have sat for people taking other psychedelics, but not DMT. Any good pointers on safety? I know the basics about fire and falling hazards, but there's a few other areas that I'm not sure about.

For instance: What is the longest amount of time that anyone has been in hyperspace, from the time the pass out, to the time they wake up, for right now all I'm taking about is for freebase vaporized DMT. Any close calls that anyone has had while being a sitter? Other random advice?

I might just be sounding paranoid, but when you've got OSHA training on your mind from class, thoughts tend to intermingle.

Did you check the health and safety section? There's a lot of good tips there.

Longest time, by DMT itself without harmalas or any other drugs? The sitter should expect to be there for anything from 5-20 minutes I would say. Longer than that is very rare at least to be full tripping, but definitely possible that the person who smoked just wants to lay there quietly till 30 mins have passed or something, maybe talk about it, etc.

I'd say they should leave you alone if you don't appear to be convulsing or anything, but 5 to 20 minutes is on the mark for me.

Not leave you alone literally of course, but try not to talk or make noises that will disturb your trip, unless you feel uncomfortable and ask them to talk to you.

I had my girlfriend sit a few of my trips, then I really just got confident that it would be better by myself, because she can't help but show concern and say "you ok?" when I'm finding something to be overwhelming during the trip, and that messes it up for me.


I find getting up and moving to be very difficult on low doses of dmt, and on a hyperspace dose I'm pretty much completely immobilized, able to only move my arms and hand and roll over, which is why i rationalized doing it in bed by myself.


I'm not saying to go through it without a trip sitter if you can avoid it.
I'm not sure if you've been to hyperspace before but I feel like simply the fact that you are alone can be confusing when you come back and have noone to explain it to.

This is only based on my personal experience, as I don't really have any close friends who do dmt regularly, and I really wouldn't want anyone I haven't developed some sort of serious bond with to go through the experience with me.

All in all I think most of the danger would exist coming back from the trip and freaking out about what happened while you were there, than anything seriously going wrong with the dmt in your system, of course, this is speculation and should be regarded as such.

I love you, and I hope your travels are safe. I wish I could find someone who was as interested in this experience as I am, it would bring alot of comfort.

Endlessness: yes I have checked the health and safety section, it's got the basics pretty well covered. And yes, I only plan on trying freebase DMT, maybe after I've familiarized myself with the compound I'll start thinking about trying it with harmalas or as aya, but at this point, I'm taking it one step at a time.

Parallelwhispers: I think I can understand what you mean with your girlfriend asking if you're ok or not interfering with the trip, and I can keep that in mind. I haven't knowingly gone to hyperspace before, but there could be the chance that after my first few experiences I might remember a time when I have been there before, but at this point I haven't tried DMT so therefore I don't think I've been there yet.
