Pure Turpentine

D-Limonene is a proven solvent for all types of extractions but is unfortunately quite expensive where i live, but pure turpentine (from trees) is quite affordable and falls into the same category as d-limonene yet there doesn't appear to be any mention of its use as a solvent in the kind of extractions undertaken here.

I'm planning a pedro extraction but am out of solvents, i'm not too fond of xylene and limonene is 4 times more expensive while pure turpentine is on par with xylene and is apparently much safer.

Has anyone tried this, if not can anyone think of a reason why it would not be a good idea attempting to extract mescaline with it?


Been a while since i've posted, and haven't really consumed any substances in a good while due to a rather brain melting mushroom experience, which was actually fine until i had a 3 hour "flashback" a week or so after it.

Well started off with mild hallucinations like with the start of the real trip i had and then just filled me with anxiety and worry about the experience i had, and i was just stuck thinking about it, couldn't get out of it, it was like i was trapped into these irrational thoughts actually questioning whether or not the experience was real and there was the lingering worry and fear that aliens might actually come and return me to my real/original existence.

But then after about 3 hours it passed, but has just left me a bit paranoid about parts of the experience coming back on since i decided to trip in my house i'm surrounded by cues that allow me to recall the experience, it hasn't come on but i do get the feeling if i was to dwell on it, it would.

The funny thing about it, i was actually fine about the trip i had, i actually became an alien entity and lost who i was, for a while was convinced i'd remain like this, void of emotion and identity, but due to lack of emotions I wasn't at all disturbed during the trip. I actually felt pretty good following the experience, until hit by this flashback thing.


Anyway i might just buy some turpentine and see how it goes, i cant imagine it not working at all considering that even veg oil works for mescaline extractions but if you get any particles like undissolved lime or plant matter they don't want to leave the oil but i'm going to do some experimentation once i get my buchner funnel and flask.

One thing to note is turpentine is a very strong smelling solvent, most conventional turpentine will contaminate your product. If it is pure volatile compounds i dont see why it wouldnt work, but it must be pure. Good ventilation is a must in this case.

Oion - thanks! I use a proper gas mask with filter on. It smells a bit like pinesol too, just about 10x as strong!

So then for a STB it would get out the jimjam from mhrb, right?

I was under the impression turpentine was relatively safe compared to all the other commonly used solvents, like d-limonene, looking at the NFPA 704 diamond its rated as a 1 as d-limonene and acetone are, with xylene being a 2.

Of course good ventilation will be required as with all solvents, but it doesn't appear to be any more of a danger.

I'm sure there's a thread somewhere- way back- where somebody tried using turpentine for something and found the strong odour rendered their product useless. Unless I'm imagining it...
