Many substances that are soluble in alcool are not in water,well..,dmt freebase is one of this.
so my question is: is not possible to purify dmt freebase simply dropping freebase alcool solution it in a lot of water? and maybe than bring it warmer to let to the alcool evaporate?
does it precipitate as an inseparable colloidal solution of dmt freebase or would it aggregate to forming crystals? :?:

it would be nice and fast to do

if it does a with wather a colloidal solution like anisette, pastis, absinth do, it would be a problem...

Interesting idea. Would be nice to try this sometime but im so busy these days. If you do try, let us know

DMT is crystalized out of water (like during the dmt fumarate to freebase conversion), so I can imagine it would work, but only testing would tell. In theory, the slower the alcohol evaporates, the nicer the crystals should grow. If one has n-oxide together with the impure dmt, though, its possible there will be some alkaloid yield being lost.

Feel free to start posting around the forums now, btw

oh thanks a lot!:)
it's an idea just to purify fast by continuing disolve in alcool/precipitate in water/filter/dry
and repeating it few times... more polar compounds will dissolve in water and any oils will float on the surface,so drop out water and save the spice 😉

Although not exactly the same issue I have had a couple of extractions where my solvent has dropped crystals into the basic solution giving me several grams of black spice :/ At first I was doing the cleanup by pulling the dried black spice with naphtha, but remembering that it isn’t soluble in water I just dumped the last lot into a glass of water, decanted brown liquid, repeated and was left with fairly clean spice that was much easier to work with and only required a quick re-x.

I photographed most of the process, both with naphtha and also the water cleanup. If I have more time at some point I will make a post.
