q21q21 white fluffy -- smells like?

The crystals are beautiful white and fluffy.. but I dont smell and spice.. once its heated it melts right away and only when smoking does it smell like spice should... just wondered is this the limonene residue on the crystals?
The red goo jimjam seems to smell much stronger..

Pure DMT has very little smell – to me it has a faint floral scent. And if vaporized, it also has very little smell.

IM TOTALLY WITH YOU!!! i was just asking the same question to idtraveler last night. my q21q21 extractions are pure pure white and fluffy but little to no dmt smell. i wasn't sure why this was because we did this extraction more than 8 months ago and got different results. that time the spice was beige and had a pretty decent scent to it.

i know there have been some minor tweaks in the tek, i think the current model uses lower heat and maybe a longer basification time if i remember correctly.

im glad you posted this. i was worried maybe i did something wrong and the lack of scent was a bad thing but it seems it may be a purity thing and that is great news!

interesting pic below. these 2 batches were done the same method and about 2 weeks apart. the darker spice was just as pure white but when i opened it today it was quite obvious it has gotten richer in color. both have very little scent if any.

My crystals today look just like the ones on the left.. and the fab news they work in my iinhal/iolite vaporiser... hooray.... and seem to be pretty clean too...

Floral is what I would describe these like too... whereas to me other spice smells like indian incense..or as wifey says smells like cow shit.. !

I have actually noticed that from the first 4 pulls the white spice smells floral... then the next 2 pulls have gotten more off white... looks like some plant oils... but these smell much more of the incense/poo smell - so theorising the smell comes from the plant oil rather than the spice... lye extracted spice smells much more than the q21q21 fluffy... so I am thinking less breakdown of other components of the bark..

Spice degrades if not kept in airtight, low temp, no humid conditions.

and as stated above, pure spice has VERY little smell, and it does smell a faint bit floral...fake floral plastic to me...

dmt has a typical indole smell, bit floral, but its not too strong. I suspect a lot of the smell from naphtha extracted dmt is from actual solvent traces, mixed in with the dmt smell. One can see this when extracting dmt with limonene and crystalizing the salted fumarates in water with sodium carb (im not sure, maybe that is what you did?). The resulting white dmt will be perfectly potent and apparently very pure (considering the process involved which should have removed most impurities, the looks and the strenght of the final product) and the smell is present, distinct, but subtle.
