Benzene will pull a whole lot of other alkaloids and oils in addition to the spice. You can't freeze precipitate with it. The number one reason not to use benzene though is that it is known to be carcinogenic and you have to evap it to retrieve your product. This is true of all aromatic solvents(xylene, toluene, benzene, etc...). Stick with aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents like naphtha, bestine, or hexane. When you evaporate benzene what is left behind will be an oily mess for the weeks it will take to fully dry, and what you get will be a wax even after it is as dry as it can get. It is possible to clean this up afterwards, but why put yourself through all that and expose yourself to carcinogenic substances if you can avoid it? This is just my opinion but if your friend is set on using benzene then please pass on the warnings.

Also, if your going to scale down your MHRB, you should also scale down everything else by the same proportions. Like endlessness suggests, go to the FAQ and read through the entire thing. It is very important for safety's sake that you know exactly what you are doing. The risks are too high to be playing around with chemicals without knowing how to do it safely. Nobody wants to see you or your friends get hurt due to not taking the proper precautions. I had a friend who pulled with xylene and when he thought the wax he got was safe to smoke he found that it tasted like pure xylene. These solvents take a very long time to evaporate. He is now at a much higher risk for every cancer known to man simply because he wanted to use xylene, because he had it and wanted to save the few dollars that naphtha would have cost him.

Good points, thanks for mentioning benzene being carcinogenic, but I think he means benzine, which is different than benzene. I think benzine is like petroleum ether, some aliphatic destilate of petroleum, but better confirm that before using.

But yeah I think you're good with it but better double check, maybe someone else can say.

Also, I think you mean hydrocarbons, not carbohydrates, the first ones contain hydrogen and carbon only, and usually are petroleum destillates, the second contains oxygen too, and plays a function in many beings.

If it works for re-x, it will work for pulling too, just keep pulling and making gradually longer/more thorough pulls to make sure you get all your alks. Dont stop while still last pull yields significantly. Dont throw mimosa away till youre happy with results

Sim, benzina em teoria serve, mas toma cuidado que evapore totalmente, bota um pouco em um pyrex e vê se não deixa rastro.. Se evapora limpo, pode usar

Starting with 250g is def recommended, I wouldnt do such a big one if youre not sure you got the process (and the chemicals) right through experience.

i just made a small test, and looking normaly to the cd i cant see anything. but if the sun is reflecting i see small white lines in the contour of the drops, maybe it isnt so clean...

Dont do it on a CD, do it pyrex.

Where did you read that? Whoever invented that way should make a public retractment and be whipped 100 times for inventing this silly way of checking for solvent purity :lol: The solvent can dissolve/melt part of the CD so you wont know what's from the solvent itself, and anyways the CD material/color might not be good to see.


If you cant find any good solvent, you can always look into ordering limonene and changing the tek.

Sorry for assuming a typo, benzine is the exact same thing as naphtha so you would just use the same amount(scaled down to the ratio you are using). Looks like you should be in the clear.
