Question about Syrian Rue effects to look for before taking ayahuasca? Having issues with brew.

So, tried to do two brews of Ayhuasca and had little effect. There were some visuals at the beginning, but not much and it was basically like nothing happened. This was with 5g (and then 10g the second time) with M. Hostilis and 3g Syrian Rue.

I'll give details of what was done, and then ask my question about it and the syrian rue.

After near boiling the M Hostilis in water for 3 hours (adding some water to keep up with some of the water loss, but its slow because not boiling), filter out the bark and set it aside.

Then, took 3 g of Syrian rue after grinding it in a coffee filter and drank it down with OJ. Didn't really feel any effects from this though. Are there suppose to be feeling effects from taking it?

Anyways, after 30 minutes, take down the liquid water and then nothing much happens outside some feelings and visuals. Nothing full blown though that would be expected. This last for 2 hours, and then nothing.

My concern is, is the Syrian Rue not working? Is there something wrong with what is being done? I'm at a loss as to why the above isn't really working, but I think its the rue. Is there any way to tell if its working and what can be done to make it work (the rue)?

PS: Would adding vinegar while boiling the M Hostilis help as well?

Yes adding vinigar will help as or even citric acid (lemon juice).

3g rue is plenty for MAO inihibition and as you describe to us you recieved effects so you know it is working.

Also, try make three one hour long bois each time with new water and acid and then reduce that down.

Depending on where you got your bark from it coud be lower quality and therefor less effects. If that is the case add more bark...

If you go beyond 5g of rue you might start to feel nauseuous and sedated and might not like the trip... the quality of rue is more stable than the quality of bark, because bark maybe old or the outer bark not inner bark etc. wereas seeds are small etc.

Once you can find bulk for cheaper price which you will if you look hard enough even if it means moving to another country :shock: not sure u would do that for just dmt though... would you? dunno

This is not very efficient. Boil it three times, three times a half hour should be enough. In between every boiling, filter the plant material and add new water to boil it with. Combine all the boilings and reduce the volume.

Wut?! Who told you to grind the rue seeds and eat them? This is a really crappy practice, the rue-eating myth needs to be stamped out IMHO. You should do the same with the rue as with the mimosa! Boil three times. You do not really need to grind the seeds, as it makes them very hard to filter and most of the alkaloids are in the outer shell anyway.

Here's what you should do next time: Combine the mimosa tea and the rue tea and reduce this on low heat until it fits in three small cups. Drink one cup, wait 30 minutes, drink another one, wait 30 minutes, then drink the last one.

You could add a little, but it is not really very necessary and it will make the tea less drinkable. And it stinks while boiling. Use a little lemon juice or plain citric acid instead.

I forgot to mention that the most straight-forward answer to your question in the title would be found in drinking tea made from the rue seeds, without admixtures containing dmt. Drink increasing amounts (or concentrations) of rue tea over the course of a handful of sessions and notice the effects that you experience.
