Questions on viridis extraction

Ok, I'm doing a p. viridis extract on 1 pound. Right now I'm at the point of defatting. I have 1400 ml of well filtered dark liquid. For the first defat I used 200 ml of DCM. Tommorow I plan to reheat the mixture and defat again. How much DCM should I should use for the second defat? How long should I let it sit. Next, I'm going to basify with sodium carbonate. Should I go higher then 9.5? What is the optimum amount of DCM to use for extraction? For how long? How many times? I plan on evaporating the DCM in a vacuum oven then recrystalizing with heptaneto gather the pure dmt. Then acidifying the rest and doing a zinc reduction. DCM boils at 40 degrees Celsius. Is this a good tempature to evaporate at? This is what my extraction log looks like so far.Any help would be apreciated. Thanks in advance. I'll post a full report when finished.


1.3 Liters of distilled water were added to pot. Water was brought to Ph 3 with citric acid. 454 grams of p.viridis in powder form were wrapped and tied in a paper filter from a deep fryer, making a giant tea bag. Teabag was added to pot of water and weighted down with a weight from a barbell to keep it submerged. Boiled for 30 minutes.

2.Poured off water from pot into larger pot. Added 2 more Liters of distiled water and citric acid Ph 3. Boiled for 30 minutes then poured off water.

3.Broke open teabag. Added 2 more Liters of acidified water. Brought to boil for a half hour. Turned off heat and let cool overnight.

4.After letting sit for 20 hours, filtered through a teeshirt. Wrapped up like teabag and hung up over bucket and funnel to let drip. Added drippings to collection.
5.Filtered using 5L filtering flask, funnel, and cotton balls. About 3750 ml total extraction.

6.Put extract in large pot and boiled on high, starting at 12:49. Removed around 4:00. Approximately 4 hours boiling. Was reduced to 1400 ML. Mixture much darker and less tea like. Placed mixture in 2L Flask.

7.Added 200 ml DCM to flask to defat.
