Queston abt recrystallization

Well, when recrystallizing with heptane on a hot water bath, won't the spice reach its boiling point and be liberated to the environment, causing a big waste?

Only if you heat it at too high a temperature. Good recrystalizations can be performed at 60-70c which is nowhere near the boiling point of the spice ( I think).

Keep it at 50C to be sure. Freebase dmt has a boiling point at around 60-70C.
