Rapid Crystal Formation

Prior to making this post, I diligently attempted to find an answer or relevant thread. I truly hope this isn't duplicative or lacking value. I am new to extraction but have had better than expected success using CYB's Hybrid Tek first and subsequently the Max Ion Tek.

For those who don't care to read all of my jabber, I have listed my questions below with the background to follow. I am presently in the middle of my third extraction ever:

1) Using an ATB Tek (Max Ion specifically), is it normal for the first pull to cause rapid (30-45 min) crystal formation when placed in fridge to be aggregated with subsequent pulls?

2) What is the best way to proceed...
i) Should the pulls still be aggregated?
ii) If aggregated, should later pulls be added to first pull and crystals?
iii) Or should the other pulls go in a separate container, pre-evap and freeze precip?
iv) Add first pull NPS to other pulls, evap and freeze precip but dry and collect the "rapid crystals"?

Extraction 1: Following CYB's Hybrid Tek for 50g of MHRB, I combined several NPS pulls and stored them in a closed jar at room temperature until I was ready to freeze precip. I didn't do any evap prior to the freeze precipitation. Due to my lack of any chemistry background, I was pleased to see crystals had formed a few days later. The crystals were very small but plentiful.

Extraction 2: Utilizing the Max Ion Tek, I followed the fairly similar process, but attempted to evap at room temperature prior to the freeze precip. Once again, after a few days in the freezer I was pleased to see the fruits of my labor. The yield was approximately 1.2% after collection but would have been slightly higher if my collection technique were more proficient.

Extraction 3 - Currently in Process: Again I followed the Max Ion Tek and reached the NPS (Naptha) pulling stage today. This time I stored my first pull in the fridge (a step I did not perform during my second extraction) and planned to add later pulls then evap ~40% before freeze precip.

As I prepared to add the 2nd pull to the 1st pull in the fridge, I noticed that significant crystals had already formed in my glass collection jar. This was totally unexpected and the reason for the questions above.

Hi, congrats on your success.

This is what I would do.

I would not freeze precip until I have combined all pulls. Sure, the rapid crystal formation is cool and all, but the DMT is in there, it's not going anywhere.

Put your first pull in the dish, but put a lid on it, and you can keep it at room temp. while you add all of the rest of the pulls successively.

Then, once you have combined all your nps pulls, evaporate, with the lid off, and perhaps with a fan blowing over it, to evaporate down to 1/3rd or so of solvent.

THEN, freeze precip for 12-18 hours. You'll likely see the rapid crystal formation just the same, except you only have one dish, one wait time, and a hell of a collection jar at the end.

Rereading through your post - to answer how you proceed from here forward with THIS extraction...I'd recommend leaving your already freeze precipitated jar as is, but then combine all your other pulls, and evaporate to a 1/3rd, then freeze precip.

Thanks for the insight and useful advice. Being such a novice and prior to seeing your response, I got a bit anxious and ended up taking my best guess for next steps. I think crystal fever got the best of me.

After debating how to combine the pulls, I ended up harvesting the first pull crystals and adding that solvent to the other pulls for evap and precip. Next time I'll be sure to remember your advice. Thanks again. I appreciate it.

This made me laugh , but Truely what you have there is some saturated nps , and you must of executed the TEK with great care and having a high quality batch of bark , the reason we or I didn't give you the praise that you thought you deserved is that this is quite a normal site and you'll understand after a few extractions that a crystal is a crystal and if you continue on you're path you'll see thousands of them , but I award you full points ! Haha are you happy now !
