Really Old Vine

Hey everybody, I've been getting the call for the first time in a really long time. I've been digging and found a stash of caapi tucked away in the closet. While I'd still have to hunt down anything else, I do have enough caapi to work with.
That said, I have absolutely no idea how old these vines are. I recall people used to say that the vines could last a really long time before they lose their potency. That said, they've been sitting in a closet for 5-10 years.
Anyone hold onto some that long for testing?

I have a bit of vine around that old, if not older. I've largely focused on Syrian rue since then, so perhaps I should brew it up and report back. It's probably just as potent, but maybe some of the THH will have turned into harmine if the reported analyses on hundred-year-old material are anything to go by.

I recently made a brew with caapi vine and mhrb that i ordered back in 2012 that was vacuum sealed. It was incredibly powerful, if stored properly you can assume there is not loss in potency.

Thanks for bringing up the topic of other plant material. I, too, have recently been feeling the call, and went looking for the bundles I had saved from probably 2012 or '13. They've been kept dry, but not vacuum sealed. I have hope that the root is still useful, though I will need to read up again on all that I would need to gather, proceedure, etc.
I had been a member of the old board, and am just reaquainting myself with this "new" one. Thanks!
