Recommendations for first Acacia tek

Hello all

I've managed to extract from MHRB using Cyb's tek but tried the same tek on some acacia and it didn't work. I think it's because Cyb's tek doesn't have a defat step? Does anyone have a good recommendation for a first acacia tek for me to try?

What Acacia and what solvent were you using?

From memory cybs Tek has a defat before base and re-x after pull.

When you say it ‘didn’t work’ are you saying that you didn’t get any DMT? Or that it didn’t crystalize like it did with mimosa?

From memory cybs Tek has a defat before base and re-x after pull.

I was using Shellite and I didn't do the re-x. I was using acacia acuminata but I have some a. obtusifolia for the next try. Maybe the re-x stage is needed for acacia? It did crystalise but not like mimosa. It was very yellow and didn't dry out properly when I pulled it out of the freezer. It didn't smell the same as the mimosa extract and had no psychoactive effect I could notice. Here's a pic of whatever it was that I extracted

I didn't get any dmt no. I tried some and it had no effect and it didn't have that DMT smell when burnt. It crystalized a bit but not like with mimosa. Very yellow and almost a bit like goo or residue in parts

Most acacia extract smells different to mimosa. Mimosa really has that new shoes smell.. Aus acacia has a little bit of that but is usually a little more floral/creamy smelling. Acuminata crystal should blow your socks off just like mimosa.. did you use narrow phyllode variety?

No I used the typical variety? Is that one a poor yielder? I did the re-x step for the first time a couple of days ago. The yield is laughable compared to what I extracted from mimosa but it looks a lot more like D. I'll test it soon and see what I've made here

The steps before the basifying are acidifying and salting. Is the acidifying or salting step considered 'defat'? Sorry for the newbness

Typical variety is known to have other alkaloids and a low concentration of DMT in the extract. That said.. it should still have DMT. What doseage were you having?

Narrow phyllode variety I recall containing about 98 % DMT in the extract. It’s clean and powerful. No more than 30mg needed.

The addition of salt is in itself a 'de-fat' step. This can/will crash out more sludge from your soup. Which can lead to a cleaner yeild.
