recrystallization using ziplocks

Does anyone know if its possible or efficient to use ziplocks to hot water bathe nap and deem in a ziplock or would it melt? I want to use ziplock cuz it'd be easier to drain out the baddies at the bottom easier. What do y'all think?

I think that using ziplocks and solvent is a bad idea, I could be wrong though.

Avoid using those. Ziploc bags are made of low density polyethylene (LDPE), and the type of solvents used in recrystallization may, at best, damage them and thus contaminate the solution - and in some cases melt the plastic polymer right away, specially under heat. Not what you want in a process where you're trying to remove impurities.

But no ways will I ever risk the integrity of precious spice

Why not just use a glass eyedropper?

The baddies I'm talking about are the plant oils and dust from the air and stuff. So no I don't want to smoke those. Lol.

The guy that mentioned the dxm ziploc is exactly where I'm coming from with this. I used naptha in ziplocs plenty of times and didn't have any problems with the two together. it always comes out clean. But I didn't know what temperature they are good up to.

Glass dropper sounds pretty effective. I could try that.

Our eyes are no analytical instrument, and a toxic or at least unhealthy dose of phthalates or other plastic by-products ending in your DMT could easily be there without being visible. Please use glass when handling solvents of the sort, for your own safety. One can easily scrape DMT out of a flat-bottomed pyrex dish with a razorblade.

Actually, the only time id use a pyrex would be if I used the ziploc. Otherwise I'm freezing my nap in the jar. Lol. But I know what ya mean, I just think its strange that I've naptha in ziplocs for days on end with dxm, and the baggies were fine. No deterioration(noticeable) or anything funny about final product. But I know its best just not to risk it.

So I'm thinking of just pouring the nap off the top into another jar and freezing it. Or should I not even worry about the freeze? What do ya think?

Just use a jar and a turkey baster like everyone else, I too am guilty of experimenting with the DXM extraction one bored night and I did indeed "enjoy" my reward, but I also dosed low each time I took it only using 100-150 MG as a sleep aid, I didn't notice anything toxic either but as someone else said our eyes aren't the right tool for this type of detection. Like I said get a turkey baster, you're much better off I'd rather eat plastic residue then smoke it and obviously DXM isn't something to smoke as reading into this it deteriorates into horribly toxic fumes, DMT though you def don't wanna smoke with plastic bag chems mixed in, it already smells and taste enough like plastic as is
