I'm writing this more for those who are seeking than those who already know::::
To appropriate a tribal tradition for the general public is a twisted, rotten idea born of questionable ethics. If you're seeking answers to life's big questions, you should do that with people you love and trust, not a bunch of random folks who also paid money to be there and partake.
It would be very easy for a person such as myself to gather the necessary herbs, rent a space, make a series of posts on social media that emphasize my insight into the more recondite aspects of the local culture and my guru-lishious looks, and get something going... I'd get money, followers, and probably some girls as well
.
But that's against my ethics – as it should be for anyone who's partaken of entheogenic substances to get over their sh!t and evolve psychologically. I don't want to deal with some random person's mishigas! It's not worth my time or any money that could be given to me!
On the other hand, if I had a handful of friends who expressed interest in experiencing a aya/acacia/mimosa/shroom-huasca session – I'd do it. But not for money. And not for props, girls or internet points. And I certainly wouldn't post about it – not even on Nexus!
A proper psychedelic session can and will bring up psychological baggage that you may not know is even there! Being amongst strangers is a formula for a bad trip.
On the other hand, there's been a good number of times where I was not in a psychologically vulnerable place, went to a rave or house party tripping bollocks on 'cid, shrooms or Foxy (5-MeO-DiPT) and had a fkn BLAST! The difference is – I was looking for a good time, NOT a revelation.
