Result Of Extraction

Hi,

I've followed QT's DMT Extraction For Students and attempted to smoke the result, but it didn't work. I think it was because I wasn't careful enough in separating the solvent layer and I've ended up with a brown film over the crystals. Is there something I can do about this, or do I just need to start again. I've attached a photo of what I've got.

The QT tek has been known to cause loads of problems. Specially for first time extractors. Why did you choose this tek over others? There is even a big warning at the top of the tek with safety issues sent in my the nexus community (on erowid that is).

Trying to smoke anything that looks dark brown, even light brown is a big no-no in my book. I say try again with a different tek. The one's on the Nexus are tried and tested, like Marsofold's.

You may try Cyb's TEK, it's designed for beginners.

QT Tek was the one recommended on the website I was using for advice when I started, so that's what I used. I can't remember which site it was. Cyb's TEK looks much easier to follow. I'll give it a go.

Use Cyb's Tek! I have used it 3 times now, with great success!

I've never used Bull brand, but I see it in random £1 stores. Have you tried evaporating a bit on a glass surface to see if any residue is left behind?

I would use Ronsonol since you are in the UK. I've never had issues with it.

I got some nice white crystals, although it was a few weeks before I actually tried them, which was yesterday.

I made "The Machine" and followed the instructions. When I first used it the chamber filled with smoke nicely, however I didn't do a very good job of inhaling it, since I don't smoke anything else. I think maybe I should have held it in my lungs for longer, but I was coughing a lot.

I continued burning the bottom with a lighter, but all the smoke after that came out of the bottom of "The Machine" instead of going into the chamber.I don't know why that happened.

Unfortunately I didn't get any affect at all from it.

Do I just need to start again and use the crystals more quickly and do a better job of inhaling?

ive used bull brand, it evaped clean and worked well
