Results of SWIMs first extraction...

So SWIM attempted his first extraction yesterday using Cyb's Hybrid ATB Salt Tek with 50 g MHRB. SWIM followed the instructions to the letter apart from having to us a smaller bottle (750 ml instead of a litre) so adjusted the amount de-ionised water added at the end to top up. Also SWIM only had 2 glass dishes available due to space in the freezer so SWIM put the final pull in a glass jug and evaporated some nps before freeze precipitation.

Here are SWIMs results..

(excuse the bad pics!):

First Glass dish yielded 0.680 mg as seen above.

Phoned battery died so SWIM hasn't got pics of the second dish/weight but it yielded lower, a lot less crystals, more wax/goo 0.300 mg.

Total yield from 2 dishes was 0.980 mg so almost a 2% yield and SWIM still have the jug in the freezer but it looks mainly like oil/goo which SWIM will re-x and free precip.

Swim has a couple of questions:

1) Currently SWIM has it stored in tin foil wraps (crystals in one, wax in one, powder in another) which are in a few plastic weed bags sealed in a larger air tight container in the freezer. Does DMT react with tin foil or plastic baggies?

2) The crystals look pure already so SWIM is not sure whether to re-x these but probably will. On average how much weight do you tend to lose from a re-x?

All in all a really enjoyable process and Cyb's tek is so easy for a noob to follow. SWIM can't wait to do the next one!

I will get some vials. Will tin foil react with dmt in the short term?

I second this place, great source for all storage needs. I like the JAM1 on this page because it has a larger opening than the vials but isn't too big either. The one downside is that I usually pay more for shipping than the glassware itself.

Careful I wrapped some in a cigaret paper once only to have it melt or soak into the paper , so be careful and make sure you're paper isn't absorbent in any way !!

So would foil be ok then? Until I get the vials through.

Looks good... A better way to store it, if no bottles are available is my simple storing tek , also, vials work good but I find jyarz to be even better. Their air tight, and have a wide mouth opening so you can easily get your dose out. Your yield looks fine to smoke as is. Well done.

If you use baggies some will stick to the sides be lost. As for will it react, I am not sure but a peice of wax paper will solve your problem.

That's not all the yield, I have some in a Pyrex jug that looks like yellow goo. It's like oil, no way I can store it as is so will see of a re-x makes any difference.

well the mhrb goo will harden in the freezer and is smokeable. You can put the goo in with the xtals you have,or keep it seperate. put it in the freezer for a few hours it hardens, then just crush it up and there you go. Youll have dark brown powder.

As for it being yellow oil that may be saturated solvent so be careful with that. Brown goo is more normal.

I got hardly any yield from the jug/goo so just left abandoned it.

I have tried the crystals and they smoke well, no harshness so no impurities I am guessing.

Is there any difference between the crystals ans brown goo (which I have hardened but gets sticky again at room temp)) in terms of "pureness" or strength?

Give the goo a go , goo is good !!!

Maybe try recrystallising the goo to clean it up a bit. Since you were using MHRB, you would probably get some crystals as a result.

That's such a bigger yield than I got from my first MHRB extraction. I am obviously doing something wrong.
