rock hard acacia stuck to mixing bowl?

Swim was attempting to make a dye with acacia and after adding the base he decided to let it over night


it dried out and is like concrete what do i do now? i tried boiling water and dumping it on it and it helped a little but not much.

Are you trying to save the material to extract from it.
Maybe acetone If you just want to clean it.

my friend said he would like to extract it but would be willing to sacrifice the pull just to use the mixing bowl again

So you have a bowl full of basified bark.
Sounds like you used way to much lye and got what's called lye lock.
You need to add more water and warm it up gently to break it up.

I thought you were talking about a residue left in your bowl not a whole batch.
Never through anything away it still is salvageable.

What tek did you use and ratios.
Sounds like an A/b with to much lye.

exactly right but its washing soda and not lye(lye isn't available where he lives but it still gets a decent pull)

Yeah just slightly heat it up after adding a little water. When i was extracting, i'd put all the Sodium Carbonate in a jar and pour the small amount of brew into it. I've experienced things getting "hard as a rock", literally you could hit someone in the head with it and it'd probably knock em' out lol, but i found the answer to that was to sit the jar on my candle warmer and after it heated up it was liquid again.

A slow cooker breaks it up without any fuss.
Throw the rock cake in there with water and heat on low.
