Rust in your Bark

SWIM was using rusty secateurs to cut their bark up into smaller pieces before blending it. after cutting up a few chunks of bark SWIM noticed that some of the rust had scraped off into the bark mixture.
Another thing that worries SWIM is that the bark has some mould growing on it. The mould looks dead and dried up though

is this OK? will it alter the final outcome or will the rust simply disintegrate throughout the whole procedure? SWIM might be using the DMT Handbook procedure with Acacia Acuminata bark.

cheers!

the rust and mold are unrelated.

but mold? wtf? did u let ti sit damp ant normal ph?

it depends man. the same extraction techniques we use are used to extract compounds from fungi.

if its just some cobweb/mildue/dust/penicillum/whatever youd probably be fine in all reality. but i have no idea how moldy how of what kind it is.

remember even tho mold is dried up it is a fungus. this means its still just as alive.

OOOORR

do you mean it came with mold on the chunks when u opened it?

I know the mold and rust are unrelated. SWIM and co obtained the bark themselves in an Eco-friendly manner (no trees were barked to the point of witch they couldn't repair themselves) they didn't buy it online or prepackaged.

here are a few photos of the bark and mold. its sorta hard to see in some photos but the mold is the really white stuff.
