When salting mescaline out from limonene should the acid/water come out completely clear & colorless?
My solvent is yellow/light green, but the saltings are not taking on any color.
I'm evaporating the first salting to see what my yeilds are like.
The water remaining clear worries me though. Seems like the alkaloids should add some sort of color to the water.

the alkaloids are colorless
colors are impurities

with my titration method the amount of acid needed to neutralize the aqueous is a good indicator of the amount of alkaloids present
