Salvage (slightly) moulded MHRB tea?

I left some precious to-be-reduced mimosa tea in my fridge too long and what looks to be the beginning of mould is now floating at the top (forgot to take pics). I've put the tea in the freezer for now. Is there a way to remove the mould and save the tea?

If not, could the DMT at least be salvaged by mixing the tea in the lye solution for a typical STB extraction? I assume naphta wouldn't pick up mould?

Thanks!

Was the tea acidic? If below ph 4 I would not be to worried about it and just scoop of and filter the tea and then just use it (taste it, you’ll know if its off) or if not to sure about the ph boil it for ten minutes. Then taste and see if it tastes “good”.
The safer route would be to just filter it and then do an stb on it.

Note, I eat moldy stuff and especially cheese that is beyond recognition reeking of ammonia without hesitation.

I'd conduct an A/B on it still. As Varallo said, skimming off the mould from the top. I'd then add a generous amount of vinegar, boil vigorously and filter meticulously. Then proceed as a normal A/B. Defat your solution to scrub it of any potential naptha soluble impurities from the mould. Make basic, pull with NP solvent. Rinse your solvent thoroughly with basic water before crystallization. Then thorough cleaning/recrystallizing of your (hopefully) extract afterwards.

I love me some reeking Roquefort but as soon as that ammonia hits my nostrils I'm out. You hardcore :D
I especially like to to keep these mont d’or cheeses and similars for an extra month past there due date, in my opinion if they reek of ammonia they are better.

With allot of food it’s not to difficult to taste if it’s of, so I would say trust your taste buds, for some things it’s good to make sure the are acidic and otherwise boil, just in case of botulism. With Aya I have had old moldy teas without a problem but for safety sake others might want to boil them before consuming.
