Well, thanks to a tip-off from a member on the nexus I am hot on the trail of
researching a new psychdelic, salvia splendens with its own active principle, splendidin.

Here is my plant:
resource.ashx

I just read that some people are calling placebo on the entire splendidin effect.
does anyone have anything to report?

update:
while I will make changa out of the dried spendens flowers, I consumed what I considered to be a "large dose" if I were to smoke the equivalent of salvia divinorum, in a tea. I don't know whether splendidine is destroyed in the gut or not.

The leaves are very simmelar, so is the stem. There is a strong simmilarity in smell with divinorium too, except splendens is less minty.

The leaves were brewed into a tea, which was drank, and then eaten wholesale. unfortunately no effects whatsoever were noted.

im very interested in this - got access to loads of it - perhaps time to just try the cold acetone trick.

I just wanted to update/edit: Splendidine is not particularly "new" (1996) but its certainly a little mysterious.
Does anyone know if it is even active when taken via the stomach? this may explain SWIM's tea being ineffective.

Phlux- An acetone extraction I feel would be valuable, and since its a terpenoid like salvinorin, it should be
most soluble.

most that have reported slight activity always say the bonfire/blaze variety is active and the other ones aren't.
