I have wanted to try mescaline for a while now. I ordered for 12" top cuts of San Pedro cacti and am going to do an extraction. What has worked best for the people who have done it. I would appreciate suggestions. :D

Some people like doing chemistry, and like having the exact amount of material to dose every single time. I am not one of these people. For substances like cacti I prefer the art of improvisation. I never got much out of eating some pure mescaline compared to drinking many feet of cactus down to a cup and just drinking it. I like not knowing, not expecting what is coming. It could be light it could be strong but it's ALWAYS medicine. I personally get more out of my material by doing it this way, your mileage may vary. I often see people who once extracted moving on to teas / resins for the full spectrum effects, simplicity, and potency.

The reason I became this way was due to many experiments, which I of course advise everybody to conduct to see where they stand on all of this.

I tried to extract the pure thing from a decent sized batch of ground cactus about 6mo ago. Was a huge pain in the ass, the entire thing was a viscous green snot consistency that drove me insane. I would rather drink it's juice in the future.

Hi Hostillis, Since this is your first mescaline experience and you are using fresh cacti I'd recommend just following one of the slice and boil techniques. The flavor isn't that bad (particularly compared to boiling the dried material  ), and if the cacti is good the experience will be magical.

My use of dried cacti, which has a much more awful flavor, eventually caused a Pavlovian gag reflex whenever I even smell or think about that bitter brew. That led me to working with the 69Ron extraction tek, which is awesome but a little finicky to get right. I've had many good extraction experiences, but so far none seem to be quite as strong as a good 'ol boiled trip with either dried or fresh material.

Good travels to you!

From what understand, to prepare fresh San Pedro I have to cut the green skin off of the cacti, then cut the core out of the cacti and chop up the rest of in into chunks about the width of my thumb, and then freeze and thaw them several times to lyse the cells before doing the extraction. Does anyone have some tips for cutting up the cacti in the proper way that i have missed. Thanks guys
