Scientific glassblowing

Migrated topic.
Yes of course! In the past, glassblowing was a mandatory course in university-level chemistry. Chemist were expected to make their equipment. That need slowly disappeared as industrially made glassware became more available. The more complicated and specialized glassware (e.g. condensers) are still being made manually.

I've even seen some glassblowing kits for children in the 50s (all kinds of chemistry kits were popular back then).

If you have a torch and basic tools, you can do simple stuff yourself, like making ampoules from test tubes, sealing them, making bent tubes etc.

Thank blue.magic, after all, it takes all senses !
What's better to learn something and make your own tools to deal with ?
It seems a very rewarding approach in case of a course.
