I was meaning that the fly agaric's are not illegal to pick. well i think their not. please can some1 confirm this??
picked in the same area as camakazi today but different feild i think. 22 grams yesterday has turned out 3 and half grams dried and another 38 grams fresh picked today in about an hour and half.
i think i can make it sunday, the missus is working and the kids are at their grans then:d
my usual fields have yielded nothing special this year :-(
I dont really have the time at weekends to go searching for pastures new, pity as by all accounts this is a bumper year! They even had a section on Radio 2 the other day about how this is the best season for mushroms (of the legal variety!) for years. I just need to stumble upon some!

Haven't been out for a couple of weeks, given the complete lack of rain and above ideal temperatures havnt really seen the point. All that has changed this week, it's raining plenty, it's getting cold, and it's looking to be perfect for this weekend so come Saturday I'm going on a recca, if this doesn't prove fruitful then I don't know what will.

That whole area it seems is just a liberty seekers dream. just shhhhhh about the location and we can have them all to our selves!( dastardly evil laugh )

I must have walked over a hundered miles this season to find the best spots in all sorts of weather, so in my eyes I've earned my yield.. but I really enjoy just getting out there, some dont or just dont have the time to.
I know other good areas miles and miles away from where i've been this year that I picked plenty from before, so if anyones desperate to find some I'd be more than happy to point them in the right direction, just as long as they respect the balance and pick without causing any damage to future stocks.

yes my friend them there hills have been trekked many a weather many a time. That is the best way to get your shrooms i totally agree. When you put the work in they show them selves to you.

Id like to hear where your good spots are? I dont have transport but my mate if he has the time can take me out on his bike, would be nice to know as sometimes weve went searching all day long and got heehaw cheers
I dont have transport but my mate if he has the time can take me out on his bike, would be nice to know as sometimes weve went searching all day long and got heehaw cheersWent out today and yielded absolutely nada....was worse than the last time, at least then there was lots of mushrooms and the trouble was finding the right ones....today it was hard enough finding any mushrooms at all...pretty much given up hope of finding any this year , I expect the frost is imminent.
