personally, i think it would be unwise to take any drugs (psychedelics especially) before he can detox from the amphetamines, and deal with the psychosis you describe. Not saying psychs won't benefit him, but imho, he needs to detox from amphetamines, and anything else he's abusing, deal with the psychosis in a medical setting, then when he's level headed again perhaps psychs can really offer some good insights as far as healing and rebuilding his life goes.

You need sanity to use psychs for beneficial purposes, and the psychosis you described, is not something you want to mix with psychedelics under any circumstances.

Props for caring and trying to help him though, i think he needs to see a psychologist/therapist before taking any psychedelics (or more meth/amps for that matter) due to the severe psychosis you described.

one thing that heals psychosis fast without any medicine or substances is meditation and mindfullness

many of those suffering from minor forms of psychosis pay very less attention to their sense of hearing and live in their minds hearing voices within, its best to encourage people to pay attention to the sounds of the world ,

sounds on the outside vS sounds on the inside and its a good idea to help them understand this difference and encourage them to pay attention to the moment rather than drift into the mind

He Jin,
You have made multiple post about the fact that listening to all sounds is a way to cure psychosis. Do you have any sources for these claims or is this only based on personal experience?

The case of psychosis described in this thread sounds like a amphetamine(drug) psychosis. Not sleeping, paranoia etcetera... the best way to help this man is to help him with not using meth or other drugs anymore.

Also, I think that, as the day tripper said, psychedelics are not the solution at this moment.

Thanks

well this is only based on my personal experience , i am not saying it gurantees a cure or anything yet it does heal and does help to remain in the moment

the more one can practice this the stronger the mind seems to become , even paying attention to breath and well there are other methods aswell , i've been practicing many methods to heal , i only offer some insight into this , i am not really saying that it might help everyone , i am only asking that you try and find out for yourself whether its effective for you or not ?

and if it does help to alleviate some suffering , its good then isn't it to offer this to other folks who might be suffering

As you said, good suggestions, but the OP describes a rather intense form of psychosis. Unfortunately, the majority of cases with auditory hallucinations belong in the subset of symptoms that are exhibited in schizophrenia, and recent findings show a significant difference in the cortical density of certain brain areas for the sufferers.

In other words, you can suggest your approach as a means to boost one's confidence and temporarily alleviate the symptoms. When you state it as "this approach heals that", it may potentially encourage the reader to make light of the condition and not take the appropriate precautions (in this case, no psychoactive substances until he flushes his system - and imo, not even after).

i only doing that suggesting this might help , no way am i saying this is a cure or anything

i am only hoping that proper precautions (abstaining from entheogens ) , and proffesional help is encouraged and people realize the value in it
