what doe guys best use for cheap separating containers? Using a baster and syringes out of a glass juice bottle at the moment, but is there an HPDE equivalent of a lab glass cylinder (which I used to use until it smashed). Anyone think of suitable, cheap alternatives that are safe? Did a quick chck for HDPE cylinders but had no luck, there must be somethng that will take it's place at a budget.

Thanks.

You can use a sep funnel.

Hi guys.

I could get a sep funnel, but I'm worried as I use a straight to base technique - so there are 2 layers, the higher one is solent, the lower one a sludge of basified water and plant material.

If I use a sep funnel, it's going to clog, and I guess that the sludge will adhere to the sides of the funnel; what I want is the solvent in the top, not ideal for a funnel.

I do wnat a very cheap, large sep funnel for cactus extracts and general use, if someone had a a link to someone who amde them that would be great, but for now I need a solution on getting the top layer off cleanly and easily. I could use syphoning with some kind of system rigged to put it input at the layer between the immicible liquids I guess but would like a more elegant solution.

Thanks.
