Shellite replacement in oz

Hey guys
So i have come in need of some help as i have decided that shellite is a pathetic solvent for a dmt extraction as i have always needed to heat it up to get it to hold any dmt and this is fcking dangerous, have had a few turkey basters explode through the kitchen not literally but it did make a massive hollow boom sound and i know if there was a source of ignition shit could of gotten real shitty real quick.

So what is better to use in place of shellite?
I have been told lighter fluid but it doesn't really narrow it down as there are many lighter fluids on the market each having a different mix of substances.

I live in Australia too so will prob need help from a fellow ozzy.
I don't think we can buy ronsonol here in aust can we?

If not anyone tried zippo?

In need of help guys tried searching for this but to no avail.

Will be greatly appreciated if anyone can help as i am truly sick of shellite and believe i am losing alot of deemeetree using it

I've had a go with Zippo, Ronsonol, Newport, and Swan...all were good. not sure if they are sold in Oz.
If you find a lighter fluid...squirt some onto glass and let it evap...if it leaves NO residue..it is considered clean and good to use.

try xylene or dcm.. xylene gets everything out fine and can be used cold.. it just won't be as aesthetic of a product... it doesn't crystalise. doesn't really matter though and if there are other alkaloids present then it will pull them too, giving a more exotic extract. fine for changa too

Well i found Xylene at my hardware shop but from what i have read this means i won't be able to freeze percip and will just have to evap the xylene right?

Also i imagine that will leave behind a bunch of unidentified things and will make it hard to scrape up and weigh the amount making it harder to make changa, am i right or is it easy enough to weigh after evaping the xylene?

Where can dcm be found in OZ?

Man i wish this world was just Universal and we all used the same shit!!!
Sorry for all my questions i am just getting fed up with my method as i have done a whole extraction and yielded nothing due to fcking shellite and a shitty method.

Atm i am still using The Lex Tek V1 for Acacia Phyllode extractions but is there an updated version?
I am aware of lex tek v2 but i followed this tek with no success and complete failure and was told it was a pretty bunk tek.

Either some sort of updated version of the lex tek would be nice or another tek if anyone can help?

Well thats a good start considering he uses Acacia Obtusifolia bark for the tek???

What tek is suited for Acacia?
I am using phyllodes if that helps any.

I have finished my acid cooks and have reduced my cooks down to about 7 liters so far.
What should i do now if i shouldnt be following the lex tek?

I was wondering this myself, since I live in Australia...but I have read others here using it with no problems. o_0
I may try Xylene too, any issues that I need to be concerned with...other than performing a residue test.
...reduced to 7 litres...I am only just starting here, but that sounds a hell of a lot of liquid.

Do you have to heat zippo lighter fluid to hold dmt?

Due to the nature of non polar solvents, in general, warming/heating the zippo is a good idea, as, at higher temps, it will absorb more of the molecule.
At lower temps it can't hold it, so it precipitates out...hence the freezing stage.

Heat water in a pan to boiling and place a jar (with 30-50ml of zippo) in a sieve and lower into the water, so the jar is 1/4 submerged. The sieve will stop any boiling bubbles and hold the jar well.
DO NOT screw the lid on...just rest on top to disrupt escaping fumes.
Pressure build up of expanding gas can be strong and burst weak jars.
You can reheat the jar using this method quite safely...but be aware of naked flames too close to the fumes.
(work this way for Re-X ing too)
Also use gloves to lift the warm jar out (the glass will be quite hot)...then pour into the base mix.

Alternatively you can add it cold and heat the entire mix jar.

PS..Zippo was used on MHRB only...I'm assuming the process is the same for Acacia

I started with 12 litres but only had time to reduce it to 7 i still am yet to reduce it to about 1.5 litres.

Well i may as well stick with the shellite then and give it another go since i still have over 4 litres left of it and it doesn't sound like lighter fluid is going to be a great deal different to shellite and just try follow your method of heating the solvent
