Should it burn his tongue????

Your friend did his first dmt extraction a couple days ago using nomans tek + a sodium carbonate wash before freeze precipitating. When the extraction was complete, he was surprised to see how "pure" the crystals looked (a slightly off-white color). Success... right!!!!

Well... he put a very very small amount of crystals on the tip of his tongue, and it felt like it burned a hole through, leaving a numb feeling for the next ten minutes.

Is this normal???

Ya. A numbing sensation is normal. Swim was very paranoid of this on his first time around. Also if when swiy gets a numbing sensation on lips or mouth when smoking freebase dmt this is normal depending on method/technique.

Freebase DMT will burn your tongue like hell. So will 5-MeO-DMT. This is normal. Some salt forms don’t burn though.
