Shredded mhrb extraction?

Hello all, this is my first post and i hope i have not done something wrong.
I want to extract as soon as posible my first dmt. I will use mhrb, naphta(zipo lighter fuel) and sodium hydroxide.(the tek i want to do is Cybs' Hybrid ATB 'Salt' Tek)
The problem is i have only shredded mhrb and i don't have acces to a coffe grinder or a blender to powder it. Will be a problem if will do cybs salt tek using shredded mhrb or is another teks recommended for it?

In general, the higher the surface area / volume ratio of each particle of MHRB, the better your yields. With a longer boil though, you might be able to fully penetrate the bark. It's worth remembering that the Indigenous Ayahuasqueros didn't have coffee grinders or blenders either and their brews work just fine.

I would do 3x 3hr boils, reduce, and acidify that.

Thanks for reply, so i will boil it how you say and i hope for the best.If i get 800 mg total dmt then will be a successful extract.

I have shredded MHRB and can usually get around 1.5% yield from it with just an hour acid boil, but I do freeze and thaw twice first.

My process is

freeze
thaw
freeze
thaw
acid boil 1 hour in 500ml water per 50g
top up liquid to around 1.5L and salt
basify
leave overnight
4 x 50ml nahptha pulls at 45C
cool to room temp
fridge
wrap
freeze
unwrap and freeze upside down
evap
scrape
smoalk

always good yields.

I use only shredded MHRB and get a 2% yield (thanks the good quality of my bark).

Freeze&thaw 2 or 3 time
Pressure cooking 1x30min and 2x15min
Combine the boils and reduce
Then follow Cyb's tek

1. Yes I add the 500ml acidified water before freezing, the same water is used for the boil
2. I get sandy coloured DMT, it could easily be re-exed to white but I don't feel the need, its pure enough to form crystals
3. Yes but I would recommend warming to around 45C before adding nahptha. Much hotter and you will pull a lot of plant oils / fats and need to do a clean up

I agree that leaving in a strong base for extended period will lyse the cells much better than an acidic solution. A week seems a bit extreme though.

I never grind the bark and generally get around 1.6% yield of white crystals. But then I'm not in a hurry either. The MHRB sits in strong lye solution for a week before doing the first pull with solvent. Just a bit of gentle mashing every second day. 2nd pull a week after that, 3rd the following week, etc.

I don't freeze precipitate either, just evaporate and with a bit of gentle care in the final stage can make sure I'm getting the crystals without any of the other solids.

I have used an a/b at my first extraction and my yield was very low.(i think because i am newbie or the mhrb was very poor in dmt...).
