Simple Acuminata tek?

Hello comunity, it has been such a long time..

I currently have a few acuminata phyllodes and was wondering if this simple tek would work on it:


3x 1h boils in water + acetic acid

gather all 3 boils, filter, reduce to a goo.

mix with equal amount of sodium carbonate, let the paste dry

do 3 or 4 pulls with IPA

let IPA evaporate.


will that give me a decent final product?
would a quick IPA wash before basification help with defatting?

I'm no expert, but:

1) Reducing to a goo is overkill, just reduce to a convenient volume? Easier to work with as a liquid?

2) NaOH (Caustic Soda/Lye) & a non-polar solvent (naptha/xylene/toluene) is probably easier?

3) Instead of defatting, just do a mini acid to base and reextraction on your combined pulls?
