Slight red/orange hue in spice?

I did my first STB extraction yesterday afternoon and yielded about .8% of my original product. Not bad for my first try, I suppose. I used Noman's tek; all but the ammonia wash. The spice I was left with after filtering and drying is mostly clear/off-white, but there is a very subtle red-orange hue present in the crystals. The only thing I can think of is that I may have nabbed some of the lye/bark/water solution when I was siphoning the naphtha, which ended up in my freeze precip jars. Any ideas as to what this stuff may be? :?

I think this is probably your problem.

More red/orange than this? Bioassay has revealed this level of coloring perfectly fine, plant oils picked up from heated solvent.

I think this is probably your problem.

Could be the unknow red contam from using ppmhrb and STB.

Was the mimosa prepowered?

Either way, it's probably fine to smoke.
