Smoking mescaline

I noticed this thread, Changa and mescaline? - Changa - Welcome to the DMT-Nexus I'm not allowed to post a reply yet but I wanted to address the part where there is mention of smoking mescaline. That particular thread refered to mescaline HCL

From the book Peyote and other psychoactive cacti "Some people enjoy smoking peyote.....The effect is remarkably subtle, it adds an interesting quality to the cannabis high, but the entheogenic effects do not occur."

I wonder if one could extract mesacaline in the FB form.... would it be vapable? Or would HCl or Citrate be vapable? Very intetested in making a mescaline changa type deal with harmalas to boost the smaoked mescaline.

I don't know about mescaline freebase, but hcl salts are usually much less effective smoked (for cocaine and dpt anyways). I also don't think you want to inhale hcl?

The boiling point is 320c for the freebase btw

I was under the impression that mescaline salts had too high a boiling point to be able to smoke.

It seems reasonable that you could smoke the freebase though. The psychedelic properties wiki page list the boiling point of mescaline freebase as being similar to that of DMT freebase, so it probably is possible to smoke extracted freebase. Although since mescaline has such a high active dose you might have to smoke a lot to get anything more than threshold effects. Unless you have some MAOI to go with it.

I'd be hesitant about smoking the freebase though since mescaline freebase is quite caustic, with a pKa of 9.56. I might be worried it would be bad for the lungs and throat. Or at the least the smoke would be extremely harsh.

But I'm just speculating here.

I wonder if the subtle effects from smoking peyote are actually from the mescaline or from some other active alkaloids in the cactus.
