So I came across this TEK but I question if the base is strong enough, did somebody already tried this? Or will the limonene make up for the weaker base?

Sodium Carbonate instead of Lye TEK

You are right though, it is true that a "stronger" solvent will dissolve DMT better if the pH isn`t so high.
A few things about that tek though: First of all, to make sodium carbonate from bicarbonate, I am not sure if 30 minutes in the oven will be enough, I`d leave for at least an hour, or make sure to weigh it before and after to make sure it lost about a third of its weight (or have a pH meter to be sure a solution with it is 11+), otherwise an incomplete conversion will mean too much sodium bicarbonate left which won`t raise your pH enough. Oh and, it`s 200c, not farenheit.
The otehr thing, you HAVE to use at least some water when mixing the base with the plant material, otherwise if they are dry you will not have the freebasing happening properly.
If you can find calcium hydroxide, that`d be an even better base than sodium carbonate if you do a dry tek
Another problem with this tek is that when you evaporate your vinegar, you will have the dmt in salt form (DMT acetate in this case due to acetic acid in vinegar), not DMT freebase, and while it may sort of work to smoke, it is definitely not recommended. Smoking salts instead of freebase might be more irritating to the throats and lungs or even possibly toxic, you should always smoke the freebase and use salts for ingesting. So you would have to convert it to freebase. Look up BLAB tek in the wiki for the `salting` step so you see how to do it with vinegar or fumaric acid (better IMO).
In fact, I recommend you to look into teks in the Nexus (check the FAQ and the wiki extraction teks section), since they have generally been double-checked and are more reliable.

Sodium carbonate is available from supermarket, use it all the time for harmala extraction... and I can find calcium sulfate but not calcium hydroxide, I dont know the difference.
With the vinegar I would do conversion to base with SC and then pull with 99% IPA and evaporate that. I almost know the TEK section out of my head, im very familiar with it. :thumb_up: best website on the internet.
But because I could not find anything about SC I wasnt sure if it could be used.

Lye is pretty caustic and the smell of a lye basified solution isn`t so nice but if you handle it properly, it isn`t more `nasty` than any other chemical. In fact, in small amounts, it is sometimes used as a food additive to raise the pH. Just be sure to wear gloves, goggles, and you can always do a sodium carbonate wash after separating your pulls, and you wont have any lye remains in your final product.
But yeah you can use sodium carbonate.. Maybe you could do a warm water bath by boiling water in a big pot, turning fire off and submerging the bottom of the container with your sodium carb-basified-mimosa and limonene, and mixing well. The heat will help increasing the solubility of DMT in the limonene, so it should be an extra help if youre not using a very strong base.
Doing the vinegar conversion with SC and pulling with IPA sounds perfect Sometimes the resulting product doesn`t crystallize IME, but if you keep scraping it around you might get it to harden up into a waxy consistency that is perfect to vaporize. Or if for some reason it doesn`t harden up you can mix it with some herbs and smoke/vaporize that. Weigh the herbs before and after infusing to know how much alkaloids you have.
Let us know how it works out, whether its good or bad, since this kind of info and experiments help increasing the knowledge base in the community.

Take look at the q21q21 tek for an effective minimal toxic tek.
I dont find lye bad at all when wearing gloves, safety glasses its extremely efficient. I did drop some once on my wood floor and nothing has happened although it is cleaner now.

Im done experimenting with extractions but jorkest fumaric acid tek is the best tek on this site imo, I didnt add more lye with emulsions but rock salt.
One good re-crystallization to make it a clear high and that was the best spice I tasted so far.
