something different?

Migrated topic.

just thought SWIM would try something different

SWIM is interested in whether this has been tried or not
SWIM thought that since the more agitations the naptha has
in the lyebark mix the more chances it has to get some of the goods
maybe it would be better to leave the pulls in until the last pull and agitation is complete
has this been tried and to what effect?

Thanks

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but what I do with an STB is shake the crap out of my bark solution before adding the solvent to make sure bubblesw do not form on top. If they do I add more lye. Then I add no more than 100ml solvent and shake the shit out of it for 1 minute.... whenever I get bored.... for like 3-5 days. This way I have to do 3 pulls max and the third pull doesn't really yield anything much so the third is the only pull I add heat too.

I purposely use a heavy naphtha that doesn't evap very well so I don't lose much solvent. I think it's best to use as little solvent as possible as evapping's a pain anyway.

I wonderd this myself. Since a vessel my friend is using is large and wide. 50ml of naptha is hard to siphon off, however 250ml is ok to take off.

I was thinking he could do one giant pull and leave it/agitate it for an extended amount of time.
One way to find out i guess.
