Yes you can use it. The base is actually a separate piece. It doesn't come in contact with anything you cook in the pan.
 
You don't want to use aluminium at all. strong basified MHRB juice will corrode & eat right through it. I once left some to sit for a while in an old aluminium pressure cooker & it was just dripping through the bottom when I noticed it.
 
The pan is not aluminum. The pan is steel. The base is aluminum, so nothing you cook in it comes in contact with any aluminum. These kinds of pans are superior to standard steel pans and can be used without any problem, because the aluminum never touches anything in the pan.

The aluminum base helps distribute the heat more evenly. Without the aluminum base, the pan is subject to very uneven temperature. I would never buy a steel pan that did not have an aluminum base.
