Hey everyone, I'm getting ready for another extraction and wanted to go over the process with you to see if everything checks out. Here is how I'm planning on doing this.

1. Add 3360 ml's of water to extraction vessel.
2. Add 224 grams of lye and let cool for a bit.
3. Add 224 grams of powdered root bark and mix.
4. Add 150mls of naptha per pull and mix/allow separate 5-6 times.
5. Pull naptha and freeze precipitate.

With the amounts I'm using a gallon container would work pretty well. I looked around for some but didn't have much luck. I was thinking about a gallon vinegar jug but I'm not sure about the cap reacting. Also I know it usually calls for equals mls of solvent to grams of bark but I thought if I could get the dmt more saturated I wouldn't have to evaporate half of it to do a freeze precipitation. Would this work or should I go with 224 mls of naptha per pull?

Any input or tips would be greatly appreciated.

All looks good to go, except for the naptha amount.

Id use say about 100ml or less per pull(nomans tek is ammended to call for 0.4ml per gram bark. Then just pull till no more comes out

Do you have any access to any gallon HDPE milk jugs? Those could be used ut just remember to add the lye to water in maybe a glass container not the HDPE jug. Wait for the lye solution to cool down before adding it to the jug.

But dude, why are you doing such a big extraction? Why not try it on like 100gr bark first?

Thanks man I'll be sure to cut down the naptha amount. The vinegar jugs are HDPE and seem to be a little thicker than milk jugs, also they don't have the rough texture that milk jugs have around here. In my previous extractions I did all the work in a gallon pickle jar but I can't seem to find any around. The reason I'm doing such a big extraction is because I'm relocating soon and don't feel safe extracting in an apartment.

Does anyone have any tips for siphoning off the naptha layer? I usually use a medicine syringe without any rubber in it but I'm thinking it might be a pain trying to do that out of a gallon jug.

Are you using pre-powdered bark?

The amended Noman's tek suggests something like 22-30ml water for every mg of MHRB, if using pre-powdered.

Well everything went pretty well with the extraction so far. I did 2 half pound extractions at the same time and this is what I came up with.
1st pull = 1.32
2nd pull = .85
3rd pull = .88
4th pull = .47
5th pull = .20
I also have about .5 of yellowish/tannish spice that I scraped off the bottom of the pans. The 6th pull is precipitating now, looks like it will be the last one. For the first 4 pulls I used 100mls of naptha per jug and the last 2 I used 60ml per jug. I think I'm going to take all of my poured off naptha, evaporate it down to about half of it's original volume and re-freeze it to see if there are any more goodies. Now I'm wondering if I should do a recrystallization or not. Here is a pic of my first 2 pulls. The 2 vials on the left are my 1st pull, 3rd one over is my 2nd pull and on the right is the nasty stuff I scraped off the bottom of the pan. Nothing else has gotten as dark as the stuff on the right, I'm definitely going to recrystallize that stuff but I'm not sure about the rest, I've heard people mention that recrystallized spice has a different feel and some people prefer the yellow. I'll try and get a pic up of the rest of my pulls later.
